<p> The IAM is warning that from 1 July this year all drivers visiting France will need to carry a breathalyser kit in their cars, as French drivers will have to. From November there will be an €11 fine for not complying with this. </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>With a start date for the new measure of 1 July 2012, the rules will apply for anyone traveling to or through France by car in the summer holiday season, even just for a day trip.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Single-use breathalyser kits will satisfy the requirement.  The legal limit in France is 50 mg per 100 ml of blood, lower than in the UK (the UK limit is 80mg). They cost between £1 and £2 and they will be available at ferry and tunnel terminals for crossings to France. It is intended that people will be able to test themselves to check whether or not they are over the French limit.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The IAM is advising motorists in France to have at least two breathalysers at all times, so that if one is used you still have one to produce for the police if you are stopped.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Anyone driving in France is already required to carry a warning triangle and a fluorescent safety vest to use in an emergency. Additionally UK motorists must display a GB plate and have their headlights adjusted to the right.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>IAM director of policy and research Neil Greig said:  “The new French rule is a genuine attempt to reduce the number of alcohol related-accidents.  France’s lower limit means it’s very easy to be over the limit the morning after as well.  As always, the best advice for motorists is not to drink and drive at all.” </p>

<p> Parents have scanned the hot holiday toys lists, located those perfect classic toys with a new twist, and stood in line for hours to purchase gifts that will bring laughter and joy to their home this year.  Before filling the stockings and wraping the gifts the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind wants to make sure parents consider the safety of each toy.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, injuries related to toys created close to 186,000 injuries that required emergency room treatment for those ages 15 and younger in 2009.  The majority of the injuries were to the head and face, including the eyes.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>The following tips will help keep children safe this holiday season;</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>TIP # 1 – Consider the Size of the Toy</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>For toddlers and all children who still mouth objects, avoid toys with small, or sharp parts.  These parts could be swallowed and could pose a fatal choking hazard.  As a test, if any part of the toy can fit inside a toilet paper roll, it is considered a hazard and not appropriate for children under the age of 3.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>TIP#2 – Consider the Shape of the Toy</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Make sure a toy doesn’t have any blunt edges that have points.  These toys could puncture the skin or eyes.  Avoid toys that shoot or include parts that fly off.  BB Guns and air guns should not even be considered toys!</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>TIP#3 – Check the Label</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Look for labels that give age recommendations and warnings.  Look for any toxic substances that may be painted on the toy and check instructions for clarity.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>TIP#4 – Discard Plastic Wrapping and Strings</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Immediately discard plastic wrapping on toys and avoid all toys with strings.  Plastic wrapping may have sharp edges and could cause suffocation, while strings can be very dangerous if the string gets wrapped around your child’s neck.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>TIP#5 – Protect Your Child with Gear&#13;<br />
<br />Gifts of sports equipment should always be accompanied by protective gear.  90% of all sports-related eye injuries could have been prevented simple by using appropriate eye protection.</p>

The watch works with multiple transmitters and can notify a person up to 250 feet away. There are different ICONs and vibrating pulses for each type of alert. The Signature Series Sidekick II is a clock/alarm clock that can also work with the transmitters mentioned above. The Signature Series Sidekick II is the only of its kind with built in Supervision, that when connected to Signature Series Smoke Detectors in the home, will alert a person if the battery is low or if something is wrong and the receiver did not receive a signal. <p> With the 60th Mobile 1 12 Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida less than a month away, Scott Tucker and Level 5 Motorsports are busy preparing to defend their 2011 American Le Mans Series LMP2 Championship.  In its first test session of the year, the team posted class-leading speeds and looked in championship form.</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>“We’ve been real fortunate as the test went as planned,” said Tucker. “The new HPD ARX-03b performed just as we thought it would. Having driven both cars during the two days, I found it to be a big improvement over the old car. Ending the day 1-2 was very pleasing and gives us plenty of momentum heading into additional test sessions and the race itself next month.”</p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>Tucker, from Leawood, Kansas, was joined by 2011 teammates Christophe Bouchut and Luis Diaz for the test session.  The team logged more than 1,300 miles during the test as they prepared for one of the most grueling endurance races in the world.   </p>
<p>&#13;</p>
<p>“The 12 Hours of Sebring is a tough race,” Tucker said.  “This year, we will see another world-class collection of competitors and it will be a great event.  We feel we are on the right track at this point.   We are looking for to the race.”</p>

<p>Level 5 will return to Sebring for further testing on Feb. 27-29, ahead of the 60th annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida, where Tucker will be seeking his third straight victory in America&#8217;s oldest endurance race. The American Le Mans Series season-opener, set for a 10:30 a.m. ET start on March 17, will also serve as the first race for the new FIA World Endurance Championship. It will be broadcast March 18 on ABC and shown live on ESPN3 or ALMS.com.</p>

<p> AutoFerret.com announced today that vehicle sales data analyzed during the month of January 2012 reveals that its Automated Virtual Assistant (AVA), offers proven ROI for auto dealerships. Eight random dealerships that use AVA allowed AutoFerret.com to access their data for the purpose of analyzing ROI. The average closing rate on leads contacted by AVA was 27.8%, compared with an industry average of 6-12%. Additionally, AutoFerret.com conducted a ReEngage Campaign with AVA over the course of the month, which resulted in an average 39.5 vehicles that were sold to old leads.</p>

<p>“We’ve always known AVA produced great results based on her lead engagement rates and the high retention rate from our dealers using AVA,” said Ben Brigham, President &amp; CEO of AutoFerret.com. “This recent analysis confirms what we have long suspected, which is that AVA really does produce dramatic results for dealers.”</p>

<p>AVA is an artificial, “military grade” intelligence technology that carries on a conversation with leads over e-mail, engages them, validates their intent to purchase, sets up phone appointments for the sales staff and follows up to make sure no leads slip through the cracks. Potential customers believe they are exchanging emails with a customer service representative and don’t know that AVA is a virtual assistant. </p>

<p>Leads contacted during the time period of the analysis were a random mix of new and old leads from more than 50+ sources, including a dealer’s web site, independent lead providers and manufacturers. The eight dealerships that participated in the analysis were randomly chosen and of varying size, brand and market. </p>

<p>The analysis was divided into two parts: AVA working fresh leads in real-time, and AVA working old leads from the past six months. The average closing rate on fresh leads contacted by AVA was 27.8%, compared to an industry overall average closing rate of 6-12%. The store with the lowest closing rate was 21.9% and the store with the highest closing rate was 35.1%. The closing rates referred to are not AVA’s closing rate: AVA does not sell cars; she helps the dealership’s sales staff sell more cars.</p>

<p>The average number of vehicles sold during the one-month long AVA ReEngage Campaign was 39.5 vehicles. The store with the lowest count of vehicles sold to old leads showed 11 vehicles sold on 243 leads, and the store with the highest count of vehicles sold to customers sold 66 vehicles on 1811 old leads. The AVA ReEngage Campaign mines the dealership’s database for leads up to six months old. AVA then identifies the customers still in market, re-engages them and hands them off to the sales staff.</p>

<p>“This is found money for the dealerships as their Internet departments are often overwhelmed with today’s leads and more recent leads,” said Brigham. “It would be almost impossible and not very cost effective to have the sales staff reach out on a continual basis to every lead in the system up to six months old.”</p>

<p>Also it was found that of the total number of customers who purchased vehicles from these dealerships during the month of January, AVA had been in communication with 49.4% of them. Her involvement in approximately half of the stores’ business makes her a valuable asset to an Internet department’s sales staff. AVA never tires, takes a break or gets discouraged—she just continues to mine leads, contact fresh leads and notifies the sales staff when she sets appointments. </p>
